WOW! I LOOOOVVVVEEE this one ^^
I was looking at my first digital painting, and I saw a comment from you <3 and I realized... man. It's been a long time :'3
So here I am, sifting through your gallery XB

The only thing I find weird about this is how white everything. I dunno. This may be my professor speaking but empty space is wasted space.
You have the dragon slightly to the left, but then you have the mushroom slightly to the right which balances the picture PERFECTLY! I'm VERY happy about that. But the coloring is so soft and there's so many un colored areas. I'm a little torn though because the uncolored areas on the dragon look a bit like exaggerated light, which looks neat, but then the way you did it was sorta like a second outline IE: The white isn't only where the light hits, it's all around.
And then the background also has a lot of white, however it looks like your were drawing/coloring wind, which is very difficult. I like how you did that, it looks really nice!
So explain to me where you were going with the white outline-thingy so I can fully understand it XD

Thank you, I always try to balance the picture out, I am glad you noticed that, and Yeah its very white, I tend to go overboard and make the dragon look too shiny, I see exactly what you mean about the white outline

The white outline thing is somewhat of a technique thing I do with coloring, its moreso a stylistic thing, but im slowly breaking the cycle to have it more realistic, but its just basically a style, i dont go all the way to the edges of the picture with color, which gives a glass-like look to it.

I am so glad you guys are finally back on track.

I do have to wonder what complications are causing gloom's absence, but I probably might as well appreciate this draconic version of its fully evolved form. This dragon is quite brilliant for many reasons. The creature's long, slender body is reminiscent of a flower stalk (ironically, vileplume itself has a quite squat torso, but it fits regardless). The creature fancifully fans out its showy display of petalled wings and flowery headdress like some sort of proud tropical bird. The spectacle is complete with earrings stuck in random places, completing this dragon's appearance of a cocky primadonna of a monster.

Quite a few features are decidedly not taken directly from the original pokemon, but are excellently fitting anyway. While vileplume does not display visible leaves, I absolutely love that leaf beard the dragon's got. And the corkscrewing, curly tail is just great. Vileplume's simple design lacks much to directly transfer, justifying the extra bits, but what you did have to work with was used to the fullest extent. Apart from the obvious petals, the redness of vileplume's eyes have here been used to give the creature a boldness, if not outright ferocity, which suits this mostly showy dragon. And topping it all off is a fantastic background, giving a dreamy appearance, which makes one just imagine the sweet scent emulating from this floral pokemon (the nature of an actual rafflesia may create an air of irony to this, but it's up to debate whether this would apply to the pokemon in this case). The rose in the foreground is fantastically drawn, proving a fine dedication to each and every aspect of the picture. Well done again.

Phew. All those months, and I haven't forgotten how to sing praises. Well, I do hope gloom turns up soon, I'm sure you'll do excellently at it.
