I honestly can't blame you. I'm in a similar fix to what you were, so I know what it's like.
It's good to see that you guys are back, and you guys are doing what you do best. There's a lot to like about this gloom dragon composition. It might not have the same kind of sheen that some of the earlier ones you did, but I'm loving the soft crayon strokes on those grey, blobby mushrooms, and especially how they form the gills of these colossal toadstool's caps. Maybe it suits gloom not to have much sheen, considering it isn't the most glisteningly glamorous pokémon, but still, the light sheen of the moonlight on the mushroom caps looks nice.
Shall I also say I adore that moon? The way it ominously hangs in the poisonously purple evening sky, spooky and twisted like the claw of an old crow makes for a perfect tone for this not-so-pristine poison type. But background aside, there's plenty to love about the dragon itself here. Especially its belly. I adore its belly, bulging as much as gloom's rotund petals, making this beast reek of gloom's slovenly demeanor right down to those magnificent folds of fat at the base of its tail. You've really done well with the petals and wilted leaves motif here, right down to the wings and spines which are a dead ringer to gloom's decaying foliage. And you've done its unappealing slacker character completely to justice, complete with ironically fancy Zs bursting from this sluggish pokémon dragon as it snores.
I really like this. Blunter claws and wing spikes might have suited gloom better, but there's a ton to find awesome about this dragon piece. Welcome back, gentlemen.
